Authorities from the Quality Department of the Ministry of Tourism (MITUR) carried out an inspection operation to corroborate compliance with sanitary protocols, hygiene and compliance with social distancing in hotels, restaurants and food sales establishments on the beaches of Barahona.
From August 11 to 13, 20 establishments were supervised, including food outlets that are located on Los Patos beach, whose staff was previously trained through various courses and virtual workshops taught by the National Institute of Professional Technical Training (INFOTEP).
According to the final report issued by MITUR, the authorities visited 20 establishments, of which 13 are operating and 7 continued to be closed as a result of the pandemic.
“Of the 13 inspected establishments, 9 comply with the protocol in an unrestricted manner and only 4 presented minimal failures in issues such as the signage and placement of visible information about COVID-19, signage for distancing.” Elena Nunziatini director reported in a statement Executive of the Tourism and Productive Cluster of Barahona.
The inspected establishments that are open offering their services are Hotel Restaurante María Montes.
