Massively support public and private sectors V health tourism congres

Santo Domingo, DR May 2021. – The V edition of the International Congress of Health and Wellness Tourism, to be held on Wednesday 9 and Thursday 10 June of this year 2021, receives a significant boost from the value chain that drives the tourism sector health and wellness.

Various institutions from the public and private sectors will be participating and sponsoring this biennial event, organized by the Dominican Association of Health Tourism (ADTS) and the Communication and Public Relations firm, AF Comunicación Estratégica.

The Ministry of Tourism, Banco Popular, Seminsa, Hospital Metropolitano de Santiago, Seguros Reservas, Banreservas, Wellmed, the Medical Center for Diabetes, Obesity and Specialties (CEMDOE), Arium Health, Humano Seguros, CapCana, Hospital General de la Plaza de la Health, The Panama Clinic, Global Medical Dominicana, the Espaillat Cabral Institute, Central Romana Corporation, Integra, Curatech, Ureval, Reference, Diss, Mallén, Grupo Rescue, support the fifth edition of this congress.

Referring to the support received, Dr. Alejandro Cambiaso, president of the ADTS, stated that “health tourism has been progressively consolidating in the country and the pandemic has highlighted the need to continue reinventing ourselves, advancing and strengthening ties between the public and private sectors, encouraging investment in new projects that create jobs and technology transfer, establishing a greater link with the main source markets for tourists and patients ”. This congress favors best practices and promotes international accreditations and destination security, he added.

Likewise, Amelia Reyes Mora, president of AF Comunicación Estratégica, indicated: “this event constitutes a platform for multisectoral integration, innovation, networking, business development and investment opportunities, for this reason, it has the support of important government and business organizations , which seek to strengthen this segment, thus revealing the clear vision of the future and the great business potential of this area, which in turn contributes to the relaunch of the tourism sector and boosts the economy ”.

The organizers highlighted that the role of the media has been essential for the communication of this activity.

Due to the prestige achieved in its previous editions, this event will also have the endorsement of the Ministries of Public Health and Foreign Relations; as well as the American Chamber of Commerce (Amchamdr); the National Association of Hotels and Restaurants (Asonahores), the Dominican Institute for Quality; the Pontifical Mother and Teacher Pontifical University (PUCMM); and the Medical Tourism Association (MTA).

The organizers reported that the V International Congress on Health and Wellness Tourism to be held at the Hotel El Embajador Royal Hideaway in Santo Domingo, will bring together 36 national and international panelists, with the aim of promoting the generation of synergies, new business and transfer of knowledge.
