APTPRA inaugurates a new bus terminal in Bávaro

Bavaro.- The Public Transport Bus Owners Association of La Altagracia Province (APTPRA) has invested over 400 million pesos to construct the most advanced station in the country. This new two-level facility spans an expansive three thousand square meters of land, with a construction size of 970 meters.

Beyond serving as a mere departure and arrival point, the station is poised to deliver a high-quality public transport service, contributing significantly to the economic development of the region.

Featuring an 80-person waiting room, a cafeteria, a package sending area, well-appointed bathrooms, an executive meeting room, a breastfeeding room, a ticket office, a children’s area, and 50 surveillance cameras ensuring terminal-wide security, the facility is designed for maximum convenience.

To enhance user experience, the station includes six commercial spaces, eight bus parking slots, a sound system providing ambient music and useful information, as well as Wi-Fi service.

During his address, Mr. Junior Castro Montilla, President of APTPRA, emphasized that this moment not only signifies a milestone in the association’s history but also stands as a testament to the collective effort and unwavering dedication of all contributors to the project.

“With these new buses, manufactured to the highest quality standards, we are prepared to offer a secure and efficient transportation service, linking our province of La Altagracia with the entire country,” affirmed Montilla.

He highlighted that equipped with modern infrastructure and top-notch vehicles, APTPRA is geared up to provide a safe, efficient, and comfortable transportation service connecting Bávaro with Santo Domingo and beyond.

“Our commitment to progress and the well-being of our community remains steadfast. We will persist in generating employment, fostering economic development, and delivering a transportation service that stands out not only in the Dominican Republic but across the Caribbean and Central America,” emphasized the Altagraciano transport executive.

Castro Montilla expressed gratitude to investors, collaborators, friends, and relatives whose unwavering support propelled this dream into reality. He also acknowledged the Martí group, representing the Volvo brand, for their collaboration and financing, enabling APTPRA to acquire state-of-the-art vehicles manufactured in Brazil, including six with Marcopolo bodywork, generation 8, and two with Comil bodywork.

The new terminal will operate eight buses providing transportation services from Bávaro to Santo Domingo and vice versa, running from 5:30 in the morning to 5:00 in the afternoon. Additionally, a shipping service will be available from 7:00 in the morning to 6:00 in the afternoon.

The inauguration event was attended by company executives and collaborators, civil and military authorities of La Altagracia, as well as businessmen, transporters, and media representatives.
