ASONAHORES postponed DATE 2020

The Dominican event originally scheduled to take place between March 31 and April 2 will be postponed by the Covid-19 pandemic.

Asonahores has just published on Twitter that its annual DATE 2020 event has been suspended and will be held on a date to be confirmed during the Caribbean summer. The organizer explains that this dissection has been consulted with the Ministry of Tourism of the Dominican Republic and is motivated by the interest in supporting the prevention measures ordered by Covid-19.

The National Association of Hotels and Tourism of the Dominican Republic (Asonahores) brings together the local tourism industry in the Dominican Annual Tourism Exchange (DATE).

DATE was created to provide a professionally organized trade exchange where international wholesalers, tour operators, incentive groups, airlines, and charter operators (buyers) can meet and conduct business with the leading tourism providers in the Dominican Republic.

Buyers will have the opportunity to meet, at their discretion, with more than 150 different suppliers of Dominican tourism products and services.

Buyers and suppliers receive a DATE Delegate Directory, which includes marketing and product information for all participants. Once received, the Buyer’s delegates review the information on the Suppliers and request appointments with the Suppliers they wish to meet. While Suppliers may request meetings with Buyers, Buyers are not required to meet with them unless they wish to do so. Meetings are arranged in advance via computer match or at the event during scheduling sessions.

The meetings are held for 20 minutes each, and are held on a one-to-one basis. During this meeting or before the DATE, buyers can also request site visits.

DATE is an excellent opportunity for buyers to conduct annual negotiations efficiently, as well as having the opportunity to see firsthand the business environment for traveling in the Dominican Republic and / or viewing properties in person. Suppliers have the opportunity to meet with various buyers and demonstrate their travel benefits.
