Dominican Republic among the most popular destinations for Edelweiss Air customers

Edelweiss Air’s passenger numbers in July 2022 will exceed the pre-crisis level and are even at a new high, the airline announced.

As of July 2022, Edelweiss carried 304,039 passengers. Which corresponds to an increase of 3% compared to July 2019 with the same seat occupancy of 84%. At the same time, the number of flights made increased by 16%.

The number of vacation destinations offered increased in the summer of 2022 compared to the summer of 2019, by 30% to 74 destinations worldwide. «Never before in the history of the company had so many passengers flown in one month as in the last month of July,» they indicated from the airline.

Vacation destinations in the United States, Canada and the Dominican Republic were particularly popular with Edelweiss guests on long-haul routes in July. On short and medium-haul routes, it is the holiday destination in Spain, Greece and Italy.

“The positive travel trend also continues for the fall holidays and the upcoming winter season. As expected, bookings for the coming months would develop positively. There is particularly high demand on long-haul routes to holiday destinations in Tanzania, South Africa, the Maldives and Mauritius. On medium-haul routes, the most popular destinations are in Egypt and the Canary Islands,» he added.
