Dominican Republic averages 71.9% hotel occupancy

The Dominican Republic registers in these eleven months of 2019 an average hotel occupancy rate of 71.9% according to the results provided and obtained by Dominican Infotur of the statistics prepared between the National Association of Hotels and Tourism of the Dominican Republic (Asonahores) , vice technical ministry of the Ministry of Tourism (Mitur) and the Central Bank of the Dominican Republic (BCRD).

This average is obtained from the sum of the statistics in November when an average rate of 68.9% was recorded 55.1% and the one registered in January with 84.1%; February which was 88.5%; March 84.5% April with 84.1%; May with 75.9%; June with an occupancy rate of 77.4%; July with 69.7%; August with 65.5%; September which was 54% in addition to that recorded in October of 55.1%. In this way the occupancy rate increases by 13.8% compared to the previous month

In these eleven months, the destination La Romana – Bayahibe with 80.3% remaining as the leading destination in average percentage occupancy in 2019.

Punta Cana – Bávaro with 76.7% occupies the second position on average, followed by Samaná that maintains the same average registered until October which marked and continues marking in these eleven months of 68.1 percent.

They continue in the same order: Boca Chica – Juan Dolio which is placed as the fourth destination with the highest average occupancy in the eleven months, with a 65.6% rate; they follow him in the same order: Santiago with an average rate of 64%; Santo Domingo with an average of 61.8%; Sosúa – Cabarete with an occupancy rate of 56.5 and Puerto Plata 55.6 percent.

Compared to the November 2018 occupancy rate that was 77.5%, it has decreased 5.6 percent.
