Dominican Republic will host the 2022 FCCA cruise conference

The Florida-Caribbean Cruise Association (FCCA) is pleased to announce that the Dominican Republic will host the 2022 FCCA Cruise Conference, the only official cruise conference representing the Caribbean, Mexico, Central and South America. The event, to be held in Santo Domingo from October 11-14, will feature a series of meetings, workshops and networking opportunities with 100 anticipated senior executives from FCCA member lines, representing more than 90% of the world ocean-going cruise capacity. It will also allow the Dominican Republic to realize its potential to increase the benefits of cruise tourism and help the destination meet its established objectives.

«I am grateful for the continued partnership with the Dominican Republic that paved the way for hosting the FCCA Cruise Conference,» said Micky Arison, president of Carnival Corporation and FCCA. «This will be a crucial time and place for the industry to come together to continue the recovery of cruise tourism, and it is a testament to the country’s commitment.»

All Conference participants will have access to workshops led by successful cruise executives and stakeholders, including those focused on tour operators and increasing local hiring and employment opportunities.

Participants will also have the opportunity to interact with the expected 100 cruise executives during a series of meetings, including one-on-one meetings, and through networking activities throughout the course of the event, which will celebrate the 50th FCCA.

In addition, the Dominican Republic will present some of the best sights, food and sounds in the destination for cruise guests, along with growth opportunities that hosting the event has historically fueled.

Before, during and after the event, the FCCA will work with the Dominican Republic to achieve its goals of developing a new cruise terminal in Samana and increasing demand for the Terminal Sans Souci in Santo Domingo. The FCCA is also partnering with the Dominican Republic on initiatives focused on cruise lines that hire citizens, cruise ships that source local produce, and increasing the already high percentage of returning cruise passengers as lodgers.

More details about the event and its registration process will be announced in the coming months and will be available at  www.FCCAConference.com
