Fitur strengthens its agenda of B2B meetings

Organized by IFEMA, FITUR 2020 will be held on January 22-26 at the Feria de Madrid. This great global meeting point for tourism professionals, leader in the global panorama of this industry, prepares one of its most complete editions, with Korea as a Partner Country, and in which sustainability, technology and specialization, will continue to have A strong role. All this within the framework of its 40th Anniversary, a special occasion whose celebration will put the finishing touch to a whole series of initiatives already underway and that aim to give continuity to the successful and ascending trajectory of FITUR. In its last edition, FITUR brought together 10,400 participating companies with more than 253,000 attendees.

The FITUR Match platform, which will take place on January 23 and 24, will put the participating companies in contact with a total of 140 professionals – executives of travel agencies and tour operators – from both consolidated markets and emerging areas, in the latter case with special attention in the MENA Region, the Middle East and North Africa, China and Russia. For the elaboration of this program FITUR has worked in collaboration with ETOA (European Tourism association); the Agency of Ibero-American Communication Agency, and through the network of delegations of IFEMA and Commercial Offices that operate in more than 28 countries.

Regarding the tourism of meetings, incentives and business travel, an expanding business segment and key to the tourism industry, the specialized program FITUR MICE will gather, on January 22 and 23, 100 representatives of the offer for tourism Mice With 120 qualified buyers from all over the world. An opportunity to establish efficient contacts, aligned with this growth trend that has one of its best references in Spain. Not surprisingly, Spain, with 595 international events, holds the third position in the ranking of the International Association of Congresses and Conventions -ICCA 2019, only behind the United States (947) and Germany (642).

Diversification and new business niches will also have a broad representation in FITUR through the different specialized sections integrated in its offer, such as FITUR CINE / SCREEN TOURISM; FITUR FESTIVALS; FITUR GAY (LGBT); FITUR HEALTH; FITURTECHY, and FITUR KNOW HOW, and the new FITUR TALENT space, focused on people, their talent, skills and professional training. In addition, the FiturNext Observatory continues to make progress in the process of identifying and selecting good practices that promote tourism with a positive impact worldwide.
