Mitur announces donation of more than RD$150 million to the Tourist Police Force
The Minister of Tourism, David Collado, announced that a donation will be made to the Tourist Police (Politur) in the coming weeks.
This donation will consist of equipment valued at more than 150 million pesos, including vans and iPads, in order to maintain security in the country’s tourist areas.
Collado assured, during the 35th Commercial Exposition of the Association of Hotels and Tourism (Asonahores), that the Dominican Republic “is the safest country in the region and in all of Latin America” in the tourist poles, emphasizing what had already been reported by President Luis Abinader.
The equipment will serve to reinforce the way in which the agents respond to any situation that may arise in the tourist areas where they are present in order to protect the physical integrity of the thousands of visitors who vacation in the country.
