Mitur announces investment to strengthen tourist police force
The Minister of Tourism, David Collado, reaffirmed his commitment to tourism security when he presented the plans for the second term of President Luis Abinader’s government, which are focused on three fundamental axes: reorganization, organization and strengthening of tourism security in the various destinations of the country, with special attention to the East zone.
“In this new stage, we have a clear vision: to reorganize, organize and strengthen road and citizen security, as well as to implement a land management plan in (La Altagracia), the most emblematic province for tourism in the Dominican Republic”, declared Collado.
He assured that “we will continue to invest in infrastructure and in the strengthening of the tourist police”. The minister called on the business sector to continue betting on the tourism sector, emphasizing that there is currently a climate of peace, tranquility and legal security, according to El Dinero. “In Latin America, our tourist security is enviable. While others neglect this area, President Abinader is working hard to strengthen security in all tourist destinations in the country,” he stressed. He stated that “I feel proud to be part of the recovery of tourism with the support of the President of the Republic. However, we will feel even prouder when Bávaro-Punta Cana is organized and safe, becoming an exemplary tourist destination”.
