The fairs of Spain, France and Germany are important scenarios for Dominican tourism

The Dominican authorities and the actors that make up the tourism sector have their eyes set on one of the main activities worldwide such as the International Tourism Fair (Fitur) 2020 that will take place this year from January 22 to 26 in Madrid, Spain .

Fitur, together with the tourist fairs of Berlin and that of France, represents between 60 and 70% of the tourists who visit the Dominican Republic, according to Andrés Marranzini, executive vice president of the Association of Hotels and Tourism of the Dominican Republic (Asonahores) .

These fairs become the most important business scenarios for tourist offers, where tour operators, airlines and all companies linked to the travel sector meet.

In Fitur 2019, more than 10,000 exhibitors and 165 countries participated, who were attractive to have as many as possible of the 1.4 billion tourists registered by the industry without chimneys in the world.

This year the Dominican authorities seek to win the lost ground in 2019 as a result of the scandals that were caused by the deaths of several tourists in the country.

The Fitur 2020 will serve for the Dominican Republic to promote the attractions it has in different parts of the country and thus be able to exceed the 2019 figures. Ecotourism, mountain tourism, health tourism, the traditional sun and beaches, among others will be promoted.
