Wellness tourism grows in the Dominican Republic
Jacqueline Monegro, director of Health Tourism of the Ministry of Tourism of the Dominican Republic, participated in the inauguration of the Meliá Caribe Beach. The official said that wellness tourism is one of the fastest growing industries in the world, combining comfort and health as essential travel experiences. In addition, he said that the Directorate of Health Tourism works on the diversification of the tourism offer to increase the activities responsible for the economic development of the country, including various tourist niches, putting health and wellbeing first.
On his side, Santiago Rivera, director of the Meliá Caribe Beach, explained that the recent “Wellness Inclusive” is infused in the care of the land and its purity, encouraging support to the local economy and sustainability, through its personalized services.
