Hilton announces development team for the Caribbean and Latin America

Hilton today announced the appointment of Juan Corvinos as Senior Vice President of Development, Architecture and Construction for the Caribbean and Latin America (CALA). During his 12 years at Hilton, Corvinos has built a team of development experts at strategic locations throughout the region, as well as in Miami – CALA’s US portal. Taking advantage of their location and deep understanding of their respective markets, including cultural nuances, the team has identified upward trends and unique development opportunities.

In addition to Juan Corvinos, the development team includes:

Mexico / Central America:

  • Mario Carbone, Managing Director of Development for Mexico and Central America
  • José Manual Oliveros, Development Director for Mexico, based in Mexico City

South America / Caribbean:

  • Pablo Maturana, Managing Director of Development for South America and the Caribbean
  • Leonardo Lido, Development Director for Brazil, based in São Paulo
  • Facundo Lozada, development director for the Southern Cone (Argentina, Paraguay, Uruguay and Bolivia), based in Montevideo
  • Nicolás Rodríguez, development director for the Andean region (Chile, Peru, Ecuador, Colombia, Venezuela and Guyana)

Corvinos also oversees an architecture and construction team of top-tier architects, engineers, project managers and industry experts.

In 2021, Hilton opened nearly 15 hotels in the Caribbean and Latin America, including the Mangrove Beach Corendon Curaçao All Inclusive Resort, Curio Collection by Hilton; the Yucatán Resort Playa del Carmen All Inclusive Resort, Tapestry Collection by Hilton; and the Hilton Cancun, an All Inclusive Resort, among other collection openings and all-inclusive hotels. It also welcomed several conversions such as Villa Mercedes Mérida, Curio Collection by Hilton in Mexico and Almenat Hotel, Tapestry Collection by Hilton in Brazil. Additionally, its portfolio of pending properties in the region will expand significantly with nearly 10 openings scheduled for the first quarter of 2022.
