Celebrates Save The Children IV edition of the National Polo Cup
PUNTA CANA , RD March 2022.- For the fourth consecutive year, Save the Children held the National Polo Cup, a version that was dedicated to the memory of Kalil Haché, an outstanding polo player and athlete, exalted to immortality in the Polo Hall of Fame. Held in partnership with the British Chamber of Commerce (BritchamRD), with which they promote children’s rights since 2021, the IV National Polo Cup was held at the Puntacana Resort & Club facilities, with the participation of eight teams, of which four will compete for the first three places.
In addition, it featured a fashion show starring Colombian designer Silvia Tcherassi, guest of honor, who presented her Spring 2022 collection. The event evidenced the broad business support for Dominican children, both from the alliance with BritchamRD, the support of Silvia to the Dominican children, from the participants, more than 62 sponsors and the organizers.
“Our goal is for this meeting to become a benchmark for supporting children through activities and dynamics that promote their development. We are pleased to bring joy and learning to these children and contribute to their educational improvement”, Juan Tomás Díaz, president of Save The Children.
It should be noted that the funds obtained in the tournament will be aimed at benefiting boys and girls from first to fourth grade of basic education in improving reading and math skills and thus achieving full learning. The basic education program is carried out in vulnerable areas of San Pedro, El Seibo and Santo Domingo Norte.
In the match for the Cup and the National Championship, the La Bienvenida/Evian team beat Puntacana Polo 7 goals to 5 in an exciting final outcome, Alejandro Cleves, Luis, Mauricio Bogaert, José Calazan, Heriberto Constanza (Most Valuable Player) Best playing horse: “Picassa” by Enrique Bonetti.
The Subsidiary Cup (3rd place) La Patrona defeated Autoasesores/Cayacoa, The patron’s team was formed by Mrs. Praxilia Trabattoni (featured lady) José Cedano, Mario Villegas, Julio Coria.
The officiating referees of the final match were Lisandro Esnal and Julio Coria. The narration and comments were in charge of Reyson Pimentel.
