Americana opens Miami-Samaná link due to growing demand from travelers
American Airlines has recently launched the Miami-Samaná link. The new seasonal route, which was previously served from the airline’s hub in Charlotte, will now operate from Miami on Wednesdays and Saturdays with Embraer E175 aircraft.
We are delighted to continue increasing Miami’s connectivity with the Caribbean with the launch of our fifth destination in the Dominican Republic,” said Juan Carlos Liscano, Vice President of MIA Hub Operations.
“As we continue our recovery, demand for travel to the Caribbean has remained strong, resulting in additional growth with new destinations such as Anguilla, Dominica and now Samaná, a hidden gem in the Caribbean,” he added.
From Miami, American currently operates up to 76 daily flights to 35 destinations in the Caribbean, including up to 12 daily flights to the Dominican Republic.
It is recalled that the Civil Aviation Board (JAC) had approved the operation that estimates an offer of 8,056 seats from March 2022 to February 2023.
“Currently these routes are not being operated by any airline. And with its implementation in the country, we started the year with good actions for the country’s air connectivity. From the JAC we continue our commitment to continue strengthening air operations in the Dominican Republic”, said the president of the JAC, José Ernesto Marte Piantini, in January of this year.
