Santo Domingo. DR, March, 2022.- DR Wanderlust receives the 2022 National Carnival Parade, with the joy and colors characteristic of the most popular and folkloric festival expected by Dominicans,
Nathalie García, CEO of DR Wanderlust, expressed her satisfaction at visualizing the joy of the people who came to the Malecón in Santo Domingo despite the rain and enjoyed the waste of art and culture. “Our intention is to export the Dominican carnival as a tourist attraction to make it known internationally and thus attract tourists to enjoy a cultural circuit based on the carnival,” he said.
“For us as a travel agency and tour operator, seeing troupes that remind us of our ancestors, of the Taíno culture and our customs, fills us with pride”, I am very excited to see our young people out in the rain showing part of us with a lot of dedication and enthusiasm”, assured García.
DR Wanderlust’s VIP stage had details that characterized an airplane cabin, the hostesses pretended to be the stewardesses and the invitations were boarding passes, in this way, as if it were a scene prior to the trip of their dreams, the beautiful carnival parades.
During the carnival, the public remained happy and enjoyed the festivity that began around 3:00 in the afternoon with the opening block that included a parade on Harley Davidson motors, a musical proposal to the rhythm of typical music, a sample national children’s carnival and exhibition guest carnival groups, including the Vitico Erarte gala.
Likewise, as usual, the most popular characters from all the provinces of the country paraded: The spectacular Alí Babá, Los Lechones from Santiago, Los Diablos Cojuelos from La Vega, Los Califés and Los Tiznaos from the capital, Los Guloyas from San Pedro de Macoris among others.
