Marte Piantini also reported that during the months of January, February and March 2022, the country received 266 commercial airlines from different parts of the world, to which the operations of the Arajet airline will be added starting next May.

The president of the JAC assured that the country is positioned as a benchmark in civil aviation thanks to the support that the President of the Republic Luis Abinader has granted to the sector. “The commitment assumed by the Dominican State has made it possible to turn the sector into one of the pillars of economic development in the country, and proof of this is the new airlines with Dominican capital Arajet, RedAir and Sky Cana, as well as the expansion and remodeling of the airports of Punta Cana and Las Américas for the benefit of commercial exchange”, he said.

The Civil Aviation Board also highlighted that during this first quarter the country has reached an air transport agreement, negotiations and approaches with other nations such as the Kingdom of Spain, the United States of America, the Republic of Costa Rica, Qatar and Ecuador.
