Consider Puerto Plata delegation as successful DATE 2022

The institutions of the tourism sector of the Puerto Plata destination that participated in the twenty-first version of the Dominican Annual Tourism Exchange (DATE) congratulated the Association of Hotels and Tourism of the Dominican Republic (Asonahores) for the success achieved in this edition of the event, held from May 11 to 13, at the Barceló Bávaro Convention Center, Punta Cana.

The presidents and executive directors of the Puerto Plata Destination Tourism Cluster (CTDPP); of the Association of Hotels, Restaurants and Tourist Companies of the North (ASHONORTE); of the Association of Hotels of Playa Dorada (AHDP) and the Association of Hotels and Restaurants of Sosúa and Cabarete (ASHORESOCA) pondered the effort made by Asonahores to promote the Dominican Republic internationally as a recovered tourist destination with a wide offer.

“Our participation in DATE 2022 as a destination represented a step forward that adds to the objective of showing in a unified way the projects that we execute to consolidate our proposal. We appreciate the support of the destination companies. “This is always a scenario par excellence to project ourselves and to develop successful business rounds, which translate into a contribution to the revitalization of our main economic activity” they affirmed

Puerto Plata had an outstanding presence before industry professionals, who were able to appreciate, for the first time in the same corridor, the offer of a diversified product that is in line with global tourism trends.

Hotels, tour operators, restaurants, excursions and tourist journalists valued this delivery of the main business exchange platform as successful.

They highlighted as positive the synergy and the dynamism of work that was reflected through the quantity and quality of exhibitors who on this occasion presented credentials for Puerto Plata. This was validated with a visit to the stand by President Luis Abinader, Tourism Minister David Collado and Provincial Senator Ginette Bournigal de Jiménez, who in turn chairs the Tourism Committee in the Senate. The officials reaffirmed their commitment to the northern zone, supporting initiatives that aim to strengthen the sector.
