JERUSALEM, Israel–(BUSINESS WIRE)–OurCrowd, the leading global venture investing platform and Israel’s most active venture investor, will host its 10th anniversary celebration at the OurCrowd Global Investor Summit on February 15, 2023, in Jerusalem, Israel. The Summit will be held as OurCrowd’s total amount of investment commitments crosses the $2 billion mark. The 2020 Summit, OurCrowd’s last mega conference, was the largest investor event in the Middle East, and one of the biggest business events in Israel’s history.

OurCrowd has been acclaimed by Pitchbook as Israel’s “most active investor” each year since it was founded in 2013. It has recorded 60 exits to date from 370 portfolio companies and an additional 410 companies held via partner funds. The OurCrowd platform has almost 220,000 registered investors from 195 countries.

OurCrowd Founder & CEO Jon Medved said: “We are delighted to announce that OurCrowd has passed the landmark figure of $2 billion in commitments. The platform continues to grow, both in terms of new users and portfolio companies. Our investors play a vital role in providing the funds that enable smart entrepreneurs to address some of the world’s most urgent problems. As we celebrate our 10th anniversary, our focus is firmly on the future and bringing the latest technology to bear on the challenges we face in sustainability, healthcare, food security, alternative energy, alternative proteins and cybersecurity.”

Medved said: “As Israel’s most active venture investor, with corporate partners around the world and strong connections to the Gulf, OurCrowd is uniquely positioned to bring the global startup ecosystem together in Jerusalem. I’m proud that the Summit provides a gathering place to set the themes and tech trends for the coming year and to get business done.”

So far in 2022, more than $250 million dollars has been raised through OurCrowd, and over 116 investment rounds in startups and funds closed. The largest target for investment this year was in Healthcare with 22%, followed by Enterprise Software with 18%, then Agriculture and FoodTech with 13%. 47% of OurCrowd’s investments came from the US, 17% from the EU and 11% from Asia.

At the Summit, entrepreneurs, venture capitalists, corporate executives, investors and others will come to the Innovation Nation to meet, learn, and get business done. Over 23,000 people from 183 countries registered to attend the previous Summit in 2020. Early registrations are running at twice the rate of previous years. Innovation executives from multinational corporations already registered include Ford, Google, Intel, McKinsey, PepsiCo, IBM, Bosch, Huawei, Boeing, Sony, Siemens, KPMG, and Porsche.

OurCrowd expects hundreds of visitors from the Gulf and North Africa, representing the largest ever delegation to Israel of investors, corporate executives, government representatives, and journalists from the broader Middle East, reflecting OurCrowd’s leadership in regional cooperation. OurCrowd was the first Israeli venture firm to open offices in the UAE, and the first licensed by the Abu Dhabi regulatory authorities.

At the last Summit, OurCrowd enabled over 1,400 connections between multinational corporations, startup companies, and investors, highlighting its value to global innovation ecosystem players. In 2023, there will be even more attendee lounges, dedicated meeting spaces, and facilitated networking.

Valerio Nannini, who attended the Summit as Head of Strategies & Performance at Nestle, said: “There’s no better place than the OurCrowd Summit to start thinking about the big themes.”

The Summit provides exclusive exposure to cutting-edge technologies, the entrepreneurs behind them, and the corporate leaders deploying them. Top participating startups already confirmed include:

JumpCloud, enterprise software redefining the way companies securely connect users and resources, already deployed in over 150,000 organizations worldwide

SaNOtize, virus-killing nasal spray, clinically proven as 99.9% effective against Covid-19, available in 10 countries, registered as a class I medical device in the EU

Ripple, plant-based dairy alternative with more protein, less fat and sugar, and 1/55 of the greenhouse gas emissions, carried by Target, Walmart, Amazon, Costco, and others

MPrest, real-time orchestration and optimization of power grids and distributed energy markets, serving 17 major utilities in 20 countries including NY Power Authority

Plenary sessions will feature TED-like keynotes and often dramatic moments, including segments such as the one in 2020 featuring three patients whose lives were saved by three different MedTech startup technologies. Breakout sessions will break the mold with such programming as “Top 10 Tech Trends,” “Eat the Sharks: The Entrepreneurs Grill the VCs,” and “Demo Theater: No Pitches, Just Wow.” Unlike most major business events, none of the speakers are paid or pay for onstage appearance – passion and expertise are the only criteria.

Previous OurCrowd Summit speakers include business and government leaders such as the current President and the former Prime Minister of Israel, Nobel Laureates, Fortune 500 CEOs, startup unicorn founders, and billionaire investors.

Exhibitions featuring interactive tech demos will include:

Gulf States Pavilion hosted by organizations from the region

FoodTech Lab & Banquet, offering samples from pioneering startups developing healthy and cost-effective food and drink alternatives

Metaverse exhibition including a 21st Century Photo Booth, providing 15-second video files to attendees placed into a virtual world

Impact Alley, an OurCrowd tradition hosting some of the most forward-thinking, hands-on, and effective NGOs and nonprofits

The Summit also provides an extraordinary preview of future startup success. Seventeen startups that appeared onstage at the past five Summits had a notable acquisition or IPO within a year; ten startups within three months.

Summit Week will be as packed as ever, with corporate meetups, VC forums, insider access to accelerators and labs, embassy receptions and other side events. Curated Tech Tours will bring investors and journalists up-close with local startups and innovation experts. Summit Day will be Wednesday, February 15. Invite-only events will take place on February 13 and 14, including the OurCrowd Leaders Forum, an all-business event for the elite of the ecosystem.

Visitors will also enjoy a deep dive into the history, culture and vibe of Israel, including the nightlife of Tel Aviv and Jerusalem with food, drink and networking with the global crowd. Summit Week in Israel was “the place to be,” said Forbes.

Responding to unprecedented demand, there will be a charge for tickets to the Summit this year. General admission is $199, with an early bird price of $149. OurCrowd investors receive a complimentary ticket.
