In the first 10 months of 2022, just over 145,000 Argentines arrived in the Dominican Republic, as in 2019, coming from 2021 in which only 27,000 arrived.

According to a statement from the destination, with the arrival of 491,787 tourists in October, the Dominican Republic accumulates 6.7 million visitors in 2022. According to data from the Ministry of Tourism, of that total, 145,430 people arrived from Argentina, by air, which is equivalent to 2.4% of foreign tourists who arrived in the country by plane; almost the same figure as in the same period of 2019. The level of satisfaction with the experience lived in the Dominican Republic by Argentines is 4.5 out of 5, bordering on total excellence.

The Minister of Tourism, David Collado, assured that “it is the second consecutive October that we break records in the country, something truly historic.” Compared to the pre-pandemic period, the increase in foreign visitors was 32% more than in October 2019.

The Ministry of Tourism estimates that more than 7 million tourists will have visited the country in 2022. The Argentine contribution to this figure would come from the 197% increase in flight reservations to the Dominican Republic for November and December of this year with respect to to 2021.

In line with these figures, last May, the World Tourism Organization (UNWTO) recognized the Dominican Republic as the number one country in the world in the recovery of tourism.
