MITUR trains APEC hotel and tourism students on Quality Audits

Santo Domingo. -The Ministry of Tourism (MITUR), through the Vice Ministry of Quality of Tourism Services, conducted a training and demonstration of Quality Audits to students of Tourism and Hotel Management of the School of Tourism of the APEC University.

The objective of the training was that they could perceive all the knowledge and details that are taken into account to guarantee that the services offered in the sector have high quality standards.

Fundamental aspects related to techniques, compliance with regulations and proper operation of establishments that provide their services to users, guests and tourists were addressed.

MITUR officials reiterated their commitment to continue supporting the universities with this kind of activities and urged the students to commit themselves to their careers as they are the future of the country’s tourism sector.

The APEC students were accompanied by Isabel Carvajal, professor of Tourism Quality Management and Control.

The activity, held at the JW Marriott Santo Domingo, was attended by executives of the lodging establishment, while Mitur was represented by directors Jaime Montilla, Quality, Carlos Alvarez, Audit, Vileysi Espinal, in charge of Quality Certifications and Gabriela Collado, Inspectorate Supervisor.
