Asonahores and Banreservas sign agreement to promote tourism

Banco de Reservas and the Association of Hotels and Tourism of the Dominican Republic (Asonahores) will collaborate to promote tourism, financial inclusion and bankarization of the actors in the Dominican Republic’s tourism value chain.

Both organizations agreed to contribute to the betterment of Dominicans, foster social inclusion, promote local development in the Dominican Republic, and create projects aimed at developing initiatives in favor of tourism from their respective fields of action and business.

Banreservas undertook to provide financial education to the employees and beneficiaries of the companies that make up Asonahores, through workshops of the “Preserva” financial education and culture program, and to provide the didactic content of the courses and talks to be given.

The bank will also offer credit facilities to these companies and the advantages of the CREE Banreservas entrepreneurship program, as well as other programs and actions of the Bank and its subsidiaries.

In order to encourage an increase in the number of tourists visiting the Dominican Republic, they will develop joint projects aimed at contributing to the efficient promotion of Dominican tourism and increasing the supply of hotels and other related companies.

One of the priorities of this cooperation was to design initiatives that favor the promotion and growth of the country’s gastronomic offer, in support of the bar and restaurant segment, with the aim of boosting the economic stability of this sector.

In order to strengthen the competitiveness of the industry and the diversification of the tourism product, both institutions will also carry out studies and research to promote and encourage tourism investment in the country.

The collaboration agreement was signed during the 23rd edition of the Dominican Annual Tourism Exchange (DATE 2023), which this year brings together national and international industry representatives at the Barceló Bávaro Convention Center, Punta Cana.
