Solbus announces investment of US$4 million to renew its vehicle fleet

Santo Domingo, D.R., May 4, 2023.- Solbus, a company of the Mobility division of Grupo Piñero dedicated to the transportation of tourists, executives and employees with more than 25 years of experience in the country, announced during the last DATE 2023 held in Punta Cana, the investment of US$4 million for the renewal of its vehicle fleet.

This renovation includes the incorporation of 78 new vehicles with which it intends to double the current turnover, as well as to increase from 100 daily services to 400. Likewise, the renovation marks the beginning of an ambitious sustainable mobility plan that Solbus will seek to materialize in five years, resulting, for example, in the use of fully electric vehicles incorporating fast charging systems of energy accumulation with solar panels.

In this regard, Carlos Navarro, CEO of Solbus commented: “we are pleased to announce the renewal of our fleet of vehicles, we know the importance that the tourism industry has for the economic and social development of the Dominican Republic and, therefore, all companies that are involved in providing tourism services have the obligation to remain at the forefront, increasingly betting on sustainable mobility”.

In the framework of the announcement of the investment, Solbus highlighted the efforts in training and updating that they constantly promote for their employees with the help of the National Institute of Technical Professional Training (INFOTEP): “for us the constant training of our employees is essential to maintain the highest standards of road safety and customer service, in that sense, with the help of INFOTEP we have been working to strengthen their different technical skills,” said the executive.

Solbus currently has a staff of more than 220 local employees who, in addition to receiving accommodation and food service benefits, receive constant training focused on road safety, road safety education, conflict resolution, customer service and leadership.
