Iberostar Hotels & Resorts was present at the Dominican Annual Tourism Exchange 2023 (DATE), which was held from April 26-28 in Bávaro, Punta Cana, to share its latest developments, including renovations at hotels in the Americas. The renovations to be carried out will follow Iberostar’s sustainability criteria to be waste-free by 2025 and carbon footprint neutral by 2030, among others.
Iberostar Group arrived in the Dominican Republic 30 years ago and since then has a firm commitment to the destination where it currently has 7 hotels and around 5,500 beds spread between Puerto Plata (Iberostar Costa Dorada), Bayahibe (Iberostar Selection Hacienda Dominicus) and Punta Cana (Iberostar Grand Bávaro, Coral Level at Iberostar Selection Bávaro, Iberostar Selection Bávaro Suites, Iberostar Dominicana and Iberostar Punta Cana).
Mark Nueschen, Commercial Director for the Americas, commented on the hotel renovations. “Iberostar Hotels & Resorts has in its DNA to offer the best experience to its customers and therefore presents an ambitious renovation plan in its hotels in the Dominican Republic, Mexico and Jamaica. Around $20 million is being invested by 2023 to renovate more than 2,600 rooms, as well as renovated common areas such as swimming pools, bars and restaurants, and Star Camp areas.”
A great example of what Iberostar is doing is the recent complete renovation of all 528 rooms and most of the facilities at the Iberostar Selection Hacienda Dominicus in Bayahibe, Dominican Republic by the end of 2022. This hotel now also includes high-tech in-room amenities such as Chromecast, USB outlets, new reading lamps and a modern key system connected to guests’ wristbands and phones via a QR code.
Also during the Fair, it was announced that between August and December 2023, the Iberostar Punta Cana hotel at the Iberostar Bávaro Complex will host December 2023, the Iberostar Punta Cana hotel at the Iberostar Bávaro Complex will have all room categories in the main building all categories of rooms in the main building will be renovated and the beach restaurant will also be remodeled. the beach restaurant “La Caña” will also be remodeled.
