Minister Collado goes for Mexican tourism with roadshow before TTOOs and travel agents
The Ministry of Tourism (Mitur) presented to 700 travel agencies and tour operators each of the Dominican Republic’s tourist destinations at a roadshow in Mexico.
“We conquered Mexico! A Roadshow a little different, where we managed to present each tourist pole of our paradise in a unique way,” the institution posted in a tweet.
It explained that in 2022, Mexico was in eighth place as a Latin American country sending tourists to the DR, and today it is in the number six position.
“In 2023, we have already received more 38,192 Mexicans, and we project to close with close to 80,000 visitors,” specified the Minister of Tourism, David Collado, in his presentation.
He indicated that according to the data he handles, six out of every 10 Mexican tourists leave their hotel to enjoy activities such as Saona Island, Catalina Island, theme parks, horseback riding, snorkeling and other activities that promote a comprehensive and diversified tourism throughout the Dominican Republic, “generating a link with the tourist and the Dominican”.
“Happy to be able to further develop the promotion of our destination in different parts of the world, much more in the first roadshow that exceeds 700 attendees. A record that will come with thousands of benefits for the country’s tourism! Thank you Mexico, and to all those who came to meet and fall in love with every corner of the Dominican Republic,” he emphasized.
