Minister of Tourism inaugurates vital access road costing nearly 68 million pesos

Las Terrenas, Samaná.- The Minister of Tourism, David Collado, officially inaugurated the reconstruction of the access roads to Ramal Viva and Ramal Los Nómadas on Cosón Beach, involving an investment of nearly 68 million pesos.

This initiative is part of a comprehensive program of construction projects undertaken by MITUR in the Samaná province, aimed at furthering the development of this key tourist destination.

In his statement during the inauguration, Collado emphasized the significance of these projects and pledged to commence additional works in Arroyo Barril, underscoring the government’s commitment to fostering the growth of Samaná as a paradisiacal destination.

The initial phase of the project focuses on the reconstruction of the road axis providing access to Cosón Beach in Las Terrenas, originating from the Atlantic tourist boulevard. This phase, with a budget of RD$33,918,110.76, includes the Viva Branch, spanning 1.68 kilometers and featuring two traffic lanes with a width of five meters. The construction also entails the installation of 600 linear meters of gutters on both sides for longitudinal drainage. Additionally, a six-meter culvert and a ten-meter bridge have been constructed to facilitate proper water flow, ensuring the longevity of the road.

The subsequent stage involves the reconstruction of another road axis leading to Cosón Beach, known as Ramal Los Nómadas, extending 1.20 kilometers with two traffic lanes, each five meters wide. Similar to the first phase, this stage includes the construction of 600 linear meters of gutters for longitudinal drainage.

The combined effort in revitalizing the access roads of Ramal Viva and Ramal Los Nómadas on Playa Cosón represents a total investment of RD$67,992,408 in support of enhancing the region’s infrastructure and promoting tourism development.
