Accelerated expansion of Marriott in Dominican Republic: Marriott seals agreement to manage hotel in Miches
Marriott International in the Caribbean and Latin America announced the latest addition to its All-Inclusive by Marriott Bonvoy portfolio of Marriott Miches Beach, An All-Inclusive Resort, currently Sunrise Miches Beach Resort, in the Dominican Republic.
The resort, which will undergo a conversion process beginning in the second quarter of 2024, will open under the Marriott Hotels brand in the first quarter of 2025.
Located on a 62-acre property in the charming town of Miches, it will feature 498 rooms with balconies and terraces, as well as select accommodations offering private pools.
In addition, located a 60-minute drive from Punta Cana International Airport, the resort will have nearly 1,000 feet of pristine beach.
“All-inclusive resorts are enjoying immense popularity in the Caribbean and Latin America, and the Dominican Republic is an ideal destination for this growth, whether through new construction or conversions,” said Laurent de Kousemaeker, Chief Development Officer for Marriott International in the Caribbean and Latin America.
He added, “We extend our appreciation to businessman Angel Antonio Garcia Berroa for his visionary decision to accredit and upgrade his hotel development to Marriott brand standards, allowing us to promptly offer this splendid resort to our guests, who are increasingly seeking hassle-free family vacations in new and exotic beach destinations”.
For the development of the property, an agreement was signed between Paula Cerrillo, from Marriott International, and Ángel Antonio García Berroa, president of River Beach Corporation.
It is recalled that in recent years, Miches has become an attractive tourist destination for local and international travelers and businesses, with numerous “all-inclusive” hotels, currently operating or under construction.
Following the recent debut of Marriott Cancun, An All-Inclusive Resort (Mexico) at the end of 2023, Marriott Miches Beach, An All-Inclusive Resort, Dominican Republic joins a portfolio of properties debuting as flagship hotels of Marriott Hotels All- Inclusive worldwide during 2024 and 2025, including Marriott Puerto Vallarta, An All-Inclusive Resort and Marriott Djerba, An All-Inclusive Resort – Tunisia.
Continuing Marriott Hotels’ legacy of enhancing the guest experience, the resort will showcase a wide range of amenities including a spa with more than ten treatment rooms, a retail area, three expansive pools with a bar, six restaurants and three pop-up venues, favorite bars, a Jacuzzi lounge, approximately 8,600 square feet of indoor meeting space, a vibrant nightclub and a fully equipped fitness center.
The programs and activities will be selected following Marriott’s All Inclusive standards, guaranteeing unforgettable experiences for each guest, according to a statement.
