Samaná Tourism Cluster awarded on DATE 2024

The Association of Hotels and Tourist Companies of Samaná (AHETSA) and the Samaná Tourism Cluster (CTS) participated in the 24th edition of the Dominican Annual Tourism Exchange fair (DATE 2024), with the aim of promoting the attractions of the destination and highlighting the importance of sustainable development and the preservation of biodiversity.

The participation was a complete success, managing to capture the attention of a large number of visitors who were presented with its main tourist products and services, highlighting the natural beauty of the destination and its richness in biodiversity, while conveying to them the importance to care for, protect the natural environment and be respectful of nature.

During this event, the Piñero Group celebrated the first edition in the Dominican Republic of the + Ecoístas awards, where the Samaná Tourism Cluster was awarded for implementing initiatives that promote environmental conservation and the protection of biodiversity.

The recognition was received by Jesús Durán, president of the Samaná Tourism Cluster, who expressed his gratitude to the Piñero Group for such a commendable initiative and for recognizing the efforts of the Samaná Tourism Cluster in promoting sustainable practices in the tourism sector.

In his words of gratitude, Jesús Durán added “this award is an incentive to continue with our mission of developing responsible tourism that benefits everyone involved. I want to extend my gratitude to our members and collaborators, whose dedication and support have been fundamental to achieving our objectives, and to the German Development Cooperation, GIZ, with whom we have worked together to implement initiatives that promote environmental conservation, the protection of biodiversity and the socioeconomic development of our local communities.”
