Dominican Republic and Brazil to boost Tourism cooperation
Cuba.- While attending an event in Cuba, Minister of Tourism David Collado seized the opportunity to meet with Celson Sabino, Brazil’s Minister of Tourism, to discuss strategic relations and tourism prospects for both nations.
This meeting builds upon the Memorandum of Understanding signed between the Ministry of Tourism of the Dominican Republic (Mitur) and the Federative Republic of Brazil in February 2024. The memorandum aims to foster cooperation in tourism development between the two countries, encompassing institutional and private sectors. It involves exchanging information, facilitating training, and promoting tourism investments.
The expectation is that this initiative will bolster tourist flows between Brazil and the Dominican Republic, fostering cultural exchange and aligning positions in international forums.
Collado emphasized the significance of strengthening relationships with regional partners, stating, “Together with Minister Celson Sabino, we are enhancing ties and exploring future tourism opportunities for both countries.”
Accompanying Collado during the meeting was Mitur’s Vice Minister for International Cooperation, Carlos Andrés Peguero. The memorandum was signed by the Dominican Republic’s ambassador to Brazil, Patricia Villegas de Jorge, representing both entities and countries involved.
