Grupo Piñero recorded a turnover of 982 million dollars in 2018

Grupo Piñero, a company to which Bahia Principe Hotels & Resorts belongs, a leading chain in all-inclusive resorts in the Caribbean, reported its 2018 financial results at the International Tourism Fair (FITUR) in Madrid, Spain. The Group recorded a turnover of 982 million dollars, surpassing the 900 million dollar mark for the second consecutive year.

Bahia Principe Hotels & Resorts, along with the company’s residential and golf offerings, accounted for 70.1% of family businesses, reporting an income of more than USD 643 million. The Piñero Group invested more than USD 120 million in this business unit in efforts that included the opening of the Bahia Principe hotel number 25, Fantasia Bahia Principe Tenerife, completing a renovation of Luxury Bahia Principe Ambar in Punta Cana, and initiatives aimed at improving efficiency and digitally transform the company.

Hotel activity
The main landmark of Bahia Principe Hotels & Resorts in 2018 was the inauguration of the Fantasia Bahia Principe Tenerife: the 25th establishment of the chain and 27 of the Group and the first of new construction in Spain since 2003. Opened in November 2018, the resort It consists of eight buildings distributed in more than 45,000 m2, offering 372 rooms, seven swimming pools, five restaurants, six bars, a water park, the exclusive Bahia Spa of the brand and a wellness center. It is the first property of the Fantasia brand of Bahia Principe in Spain, the family concept of the brand that offers all-inclusive theme hotels with entertainment and programming for guests of all ages. The new hotel opened its doors almost two years after the debut of Fantasia Bahia Principe Punta Cana.
Also in 2018, the brand renewed and reopened the Luxury Bahia Principe Ambar, exclusively for adults, in Punta Cana, Dominican Republic, with new swim-up rooms, restaurants, as well as a sports bar and an open gym for adult guests.
In terms of customer satisfaction, the Global Review Index TM, reported an increase of four percentage points in the performance of the brand from 86.7% to 90.7%, quantifying the high service standards. The Net Promoter Score of the brand, an index that varies from 1 to 100 that measures a customer’s willingness to recommend a product or service to others, was also increased by four points.
