Reservations are increased by almost 10% to Puerto Plata through Expedia
During the first half of 2019, data from Expedia Group reveal that reservations to Puerto Plata, Dominican Republic, registered an increase of almost 10%.
In that sense, the market with the highest growth at Puerto Plata was the United States with 14% of American bookings.
The average length of stay was three days during the same period and the average reservation time went from 32 to 33 days.
Meanwhile, Canada was the second international destination whose demand grew to Puerto Plata from January to June 2019; almost 5%. The packages to Puerto Plata represented a little more than 40% of the demand during the first half of the year.
Regarding the behavior of the travelers, according to the numbers of the platform, the four-star properties represented almost 55% of the demand to Puerto Plata, while the three-star accommodations, was just over 42% of the demand. The data show travelers’ preference for luxury accommodations and complementary services, which is an opportunity for the hospitality industry in the Dominican Republic to offer attractive services to its guests.
