Minister of Tourism of the Dominican Republic highlighted investments in Santo Domingo

García stressed that with the intervention of the Colonial City of Santo Domingo, new businesses in the area have increased by 96%, as a result of the displacement of domestic tourism and an increase of 62% of international tourists attracted by their historical-cultural offerings .

He recalled that in an agreement signed with the Dominican Institute of Telecommunications (INDOTEL), the Colonial City will become the first Smart City in the Caribbean region, which will further strengthen the growth of tourism for the country.

This information was offered by the Minister of Tourism at the inauguration of the Marina Riverside Center of Casa de Campo, which was attended by the President of the Republic, Danilo Medina, which was built at a cost of more than five million dollars .

“This is an important investment for Casa de Campo, a project with state-of-the-art technology, with an interesting description for the Meetings, Incentives, Conventions and Exhibitions segment – MICE-, which contributes to the strengthening of the destination” , said the official.

He added that Casa de Campo is a project that any country in the world would like to have in its territory, which is unique, and that is at a strategic point that favors the development of road investments that have been made in the eastern part of the country .

“Casa de Campo for the Dominican Republic is the true tourist jewel of the entire Caribbean region,” said García Fernández.
