Dominican Republic recorded the visit of 8.8 million foreigners in 2019
The statistical report sent to the drafting of Dominican Infotur of the DGM, indicates that the entry of 7,229, 845 foreigners of different nationalities was reported through the different airports, being the Punta Cana terminal the one that registered the largest number of passengers, followed by Las Américas, Cibao, Puerto Plata, La Romana, El Catey de Samaná, Joaquín Balaguer and Barahona.
Regarding the migratory movements along the land border, the DGM reported that 285,797 entries and 223,428 exits were registered, mainly by the Jimaní border post, where the highest flow was reported, followed by Dajabón, Elías Piña and Pedernales.
Regarding the seaway, the statistical data indicate 1,285,756 entries and 1,264,878 departures, being the tourist ports of Maimon, in Puerto Plata and La Romana, the most visited by the cruise traffic.
The DGM report for that year also indicates the issuance of 33,602 residences of different categories to foreigners from 118 countries.
