Government and private sector give strong impulse to the Country Brand strategy

Santo Domingo.- The Country Brand strategy took a new boost this Wednesday with the signing of an inter-institutional agreement signed between the Ministry of Tourism (MITUR) and the Export and Investment Center (CEI-RD) to coordinate efforts with the public sectors and private for the materialization of concrete initiatives in the development of this strategy.

The agreement was signed, by the government, by the Minister of Tourism, David Collado and the director of the Center for Investment and Exports (CEI-RD), Biviana Riveiro Disla; as well as by Ligia Bonetti and Rafael Blanco Canto, as representatives of the private sector, for an action plan and a committee for the successive integration of the representatives of the public and private sectors, with a coordinated effort from the highest level.

The interinstitutional agreement seeks to lay the basis for a rapid implementation of the Country Brand strategy and considers MITUR’s support to spread the Country Brand, through all its promotion offices, located in more than 25 countries and the main cities of the world.

The MITUR will make a contribution of US $ 2,000,000 for promotional activities through a trust, and the same amount that must be raised by the private sector through a public-private partnership.

David Collado assured that from MITUR no effort will be spared to position the Country Brand strategy internationally.

“Seeing what progress has been made in the concept of the country brand, fundamental for us, to strengthen tourism, empowering our local industries, spreading our culture, betting on investment and providing the best of what we have: the spirit of our people They can count on our full support, ”said Collado.

For her part, the director of the CEI-RD, Biviana Riveiro, thanked MITUR and the private sector for their support, pointing out the importance of the active integration of sectors as important as Tourism in the work of the Country Brand strategy, since It is a State policy that aims to promote tourism, culture and exports, as well as to provide the right climate to attract foreign investment.

This strategy seeks to project a better comprehensive image of the country, where the full potential of the Dominican Republic is shown in various areas identified in the strategy.
