Dominican Republic averages 34.1% occupancy until February

Hotel occupancy in the Dominican Republic is 34.1% average until February 2021.

The province of Samaná leads with 48.2% of hotel occupancy for the month of February 2021, according to the data provided by the Statistics Department of the Association of Hotels and Tourism of the Dominican Republic (ASONAHORES).

For this second month of 2021, Santiago managed to occupy the second position with 47.2% and Santo Domingo with 35. percent

As for the general average between the two months (January – February), the hotel sector in the Dominican Republic registers a general percentage occupancy rate of 32.3%, recalling that in the first month the general average was 35.8%.

For these first two months of the year, the destination Santiago de los Caballeros registered the highest occupancy rate with 43%, also being the only destination to exceed 40 percentage points. In second place very close with 39.7% is Samaná and in third place is the destination Romana – Bayahibe with 38.9%. 

They continue in the same order, Santo Domingo with 35.9% in the case of Punta Cana – Bávaro and Sosúa – Cabarete, both record 33.8% occupancy in their hotel floors respectively. Puerto Plata follows with 31.5% and Boca Chica – Juan Dolio with 28.9 percent.
