Air Europa will add 5 Boeing 787 to its fleet; will fly to 23 destinations in America in 2022

Madrid.- The Spanish airline Air Europa will expand its fleet incorporating eleven new planes during the year, thus adding five new Boeing 787 Dreamliners and six new Boeing 737s.

With this extension, the airline begins an expansion stage to respond to the increase in sales registered since the end of last year. It also expects that for the second semester it will exceed the available seats on its main routes from Barajas airport.

The new aircraft will make it possible to increase the offer, optimize the number of flights, and operate in all its destinations in America. The airline announced that it intends to reach 23 destinations in America throughout 2022, which will be added to the 33 that it serves in Spain and Europe.

This expansion plan will reinforce the strategic role of Air Europa in the Madrid-Barajas airport hub, and will allow its routes to reach the levels prior to the start of the pandemic, even improving the available offer and the number of passengers transported. The places offered for this second semester will exceed those of 2019 by 5%.

The data corroborate a significant recovery in activity in recent months, especially in long-haul. The increase in passenger demand has allowed the reactivation of routes from Barajas, exceeding 2019 levels and once again demonstrating the importance of Air Europa in the air corridor between Europe and America.

Air Europa’s fleet is made up of 38 aircraft whose average age does not exceed 4 years. The company is a leader in environmental conservation processes. In 2018, the German environmental organization Atmosfair rated it as the most efficient European network airline.

Air Europa Air Europa is a member of the SkyTeam alliance, formed 19 years ago, in which 19 airlines participate, working together as a large global network serving more than 630 million passengers a year.
