American Airlines Set to Relaunch Tortola Flights
American Airlines will soon be relaunching its landmark nonstop service between Miami and Tortola, Caribbean Journal has learned.
The popular route, the first-ever nonstop flight between the United States and the British Virgin Islands, will be restarting on Nov. 16.
The new flights will be operating twice daily from Miami International Airport.
Service will run through at least April 2024.
It’s an important route for the British Virgin Islands, which is also welcoming a new route between San Juan and Virgin Gorda on Tradewind Aviation. Travelers can access flights to San Juan through Tradewind’s broad network of interline parners.
The British Virgin Island has been continuing its tourism recovery, with big help from the new American Airlines route, which first launched in June 2023.
Another popular way to visit the British Virgin Islands is by flying to St Thomas and taking inter-island ferry service.
