Angels Helpers NYC 2024 Charity Gala Raises Funds for Harlem School of the Arts, Highbridge Voices
NEW YORK – Last night, many of New York City’s leading philanthropists gathered at the Harmonie Club for the Angels Helpers NYC 2024 Charity Gala, “Big City, Big Hearts: New Yorkers Helping New Yorkers.”
The evening raised nearly $200,000 for two treasured organizations, Harlem School of the Arts and Highbridge Voices.
Ted Taylor, Director of Giving for Harlem School of the Arts, delivered the keynote address, in which he shared the organization’s vision and results for city schoolchildren. “Our primary purpose is to provide avenues of positive self expression that can also lead to career paths yet unimagined,” said Taylor. “As a representative of Harlem School of the Arts, I humbly accept this recognition by Angels Helpers. The missions and visions of our organizations align, as we together strive daily to make a difference in the education of underserved communities in New York.”
World famous violinist David Aaron Carpenter provided the evening’s entertainment.
“We created Angels Helpers NYC to make a difference and spread joy,” said Angels Helpers NYC founder Bernard Adams. “New York City is the world’s epicenter of culture, and we are committed to ensuring that all young New Yorkers have access to make art and music a part of their lives. We’re proud to support Harlem School of the Arts and Highbridge Voices, two organizations that work tirelessly to do exactly that.”
Harlem School of the Arts is a cultural arts center committed to leveling the playing field by empowering young people from across the multi-cultural and socio-economic spectrum. Of the nearly 5,000 students who participate in its programs, more than 85% are African American or Latino and nearly 50% of students taking classes at its facility receive financial assistance.
Highbridge Voices provides intensive music, academic, and social programs for children and young adults to learn, develop, and present uplifting music for the community and acquire invaluable lifelong skills for college, career, and beyond.
Angels Helpers NYC is planning its next gala fundraiser for this fall.
