Barceló executives highlight resurgence of conventions from the US and Canada

PUNTA CANA, La Altagracia, D.R. May 2022.- The promising events and conventions market for the Dominican Republic, the United States and Canada is resurfacing and this is already reflected in the Barceló Bávaro Grand Resort Convention Center, whose occupancy is reaching pre-pandemic levels.

The topic of the convention and events market was addressed at DATE, the Dominican tourism product marketing fair that exceeded the participation of international companies and delegates in the 2021 edition by 30%, and has been described as a “resounding success” by the executive vice president of the Association of Hotels and Tourism of the Dominican Republic (ASONAHORES).

He also assured Pérez that the projections that Barceló Hotels have for the incentive travel segment (MICE) are very good for 2023”.
