Carnival Corporation & plc, the world’s largest cruise company, announced today that it expects to restart more than 50% of its total fleet capacity by the end of October, representing an important milestone for the company’s previously announced plans to resuming service with almost 65% of its fleet capacity to start the new year.

To date, eight of the company’s nine cruise line brands (Carnival Cruise Line, Princess Cruises, Holland America Line, Seabourn, Costa Cruises, AIDA Cruises, P&O Cruises (UK) and Cunard) have resumed their voyages from guests. By the end of October, those eight brands have announced that they will operate 42 ships, marking the return of more than 50% of the company’s global fleet capacity, as part of general restart efforts around the world. Together, the corporation’s brands are resuming operations using a gradual and phased approach, with departures from major world ports in multiple world regions, including the US, Mexico, the Caribbean, the UK, Europe.
