Cedimat and Arajet partner to promote medical tourism

Santo Domingo.- The Center for Diagnostics and Advanced Medicine and for Medical Conferences and Telemedicine (Cedimat) and airline Arajet have signed an agreement to promote medical tourism in the Dominican Republic.

This partnership will provide international patients access to one of the most advanced healthcare institutions in the Dominican Republic, Central America, and the Caribbean, renowned for its medical expertise, cutting-edge technology, infrastructure, and patient care effectiveness. Additionally, patients will benefit from a comfortable, affordable, and safe international travel experience.

The agreement was signed by Cedimat’s General Director, Milagros Ureña, and Arajet’s CEO, Víctor Pacheco Méndez. Ureña emphasized that Cedimat’s primary goal for the past 25 years has been to deliver quality service with safety and compassion for patients. From the outset, Cedimat has aimed to provide medical assistance to both national and international patients, positioning the country as a medical tourism destination—a goal further strengthened by this alliance.

Pacheco Méndez highlighted that Arajet’s extensive network of destinations and connections enhances health tourism by enabling passengers to travel comfortably and directly to improve their quality of life. He stated, “At Arajet, we are committed to turning the Dominican Republic into a connectivity hub, contributing to the growth of this type of tourism and expanding flight opportunities for those seeking high-standard medical assistance in the region.”

Through this inter-institutional alliance, Cedimat and Arajet reaffirm their social commitment to support and positively impact the country’s economic development. As part of the agreement, both entities will engage in promotional activities across their extensive network of 16 countries and 23 destinations, raising awareness about Cedimat’s facilities for those needing medical assistance.

As pioneers of medical tourism in the Dominican Republic, Cedimat offers international patients the Cedimat International Unit, where multilingual staff assist with appointment management, coordination of necessary studies, specialized medical consultations, registration, billing, and admission processes. They also provide results delivery, accommodation, and transportation information within the city, with results available in Spanish, English, and other required languages.

Patients will benefit from traveling with an airline that prioritizes passenger comfort. Arajet has been recognized by CH Aviation at the World Aviation Summit as the second airline in the Americas with the newest fleet and the third worldwide.
