D.R. OPT in Miami conducts virtual press trip with more than 60 influencers and US Hispanic journalists

MIAMI, FL.-  The Dominican Republic Tourism Promotion Office (OPT) in Miami conducted a virtual press trip with the participation of more than sixty prominent Hispanic media influencers, travel writers and journalists from different cities in the United States.

The press trip called “Virtual Press Trip #ViveRD ” was made through the zoom platform, where ten representatives of hotel chains presented part of the hotel and complementary offer of the Dominican Republic destination.

The new initiative, organized with the aim of promoting to the media and influencers the beauties, new products and security protocols that are being carried out in the destination, was coordinated by Yaniris Felipe, in charge of Media and the Hispanic Market for the United States together with the director of the Miami OPT, Wendy Justo, and the team from that office.

“Due to the pandemic we were not able to bring press groups, influencers and live programs from this market as every year, but we understood that if we could not take them to the destination, we could bring them a little piece of the Dominican Republic here even in a virtual way, to prepare them for when we can physically live the experience next year, “said Felipe.

He stressed that an important point of this experience, in addition to approaching and telling the media that we are here for them, «we had to report in detail about all the security protocols and hygiene measures that the Dominican Republic and the hotels are complying with to ensure a pleasant, healthy and safe stay for each visitor who arrives at our destination ».

The virtual experience, which lasted around two and a half hours, was welcomed with great joy by the participants, who expressed their desire to pack up and go with their family to the heavenly destination.

After presenting videos of the destination and the different participating hotels, among which stand out Amhsa Marina, Bahia Príncipe, Barcelo Hotels, Before Boarding, Emotions Puerto Plata and Juan Dolio,

Also, Grand Sirenis Punta Cana, Hodelpa Nicolas de Ovando, Novus Plaza, Majestic Hotels, Punta Cana Resorts and Viva Wyndham Resorts, the participants had a raffle for hotel stays and assistance for arrivals and departures in the VIP rooms.
