Delegation from Zhangjiajie explores partnerships with Verón-Punta Cana

Punta Cana.- A delegation from Zhangjiajie, located in Hunan Province, northwest China, led by Mr. Wang Hongbin, the Mayor of the People’s Government of Zhangjiajie Municipality, visited Ramón Ramirez, the director of the Verón Punta Cana Municipal Board, on Thursday.

The primary objective of the visit was to foster exchanges and cooperation in the tourism sector, considering the abundant resources in this field for both cities.

The delegation comprised representatives from various sectors of Zhangjiajie, including Mr. Xiang Zhigang, Secretary General and Director of the Zhangjiajie Municipal People’s Government Office; Mr. Wang Xuejun, Mayor of the People’s Government of Yongding District of Zhangjiajie; Mr. Zhu Aimin, Mayor of the People’s Government of Zhangjiajie Cili District; Ms. Li Jianli, Deputy Director of the Foreign Affairs Office of Zhangjiajie Municipal People’s Government; and Ms. Tian Hongman, Deputy Director of the Zhangjiajie Culture, Tourism, Radio, Television, and Sports Bureau.

Additionally, attendees included Mr. Paul Beswick, director of the Grupo Puntacana Foundation; Wagner Encarnación, president of the Chapter House of Verón Punta Cana; Juan Carlos Sánchez, Director of the Planning and Development Division; and Jorge Botero, International Liaison.

This visit is seen as a significant step towards fostering greater collaboration and mutual understanding between the two cities. It is expected to result in joint projects aimed at promoting tourism development and strengthening the bonds of friendship between the communities.
