Despegar presents a study that reveals the demand for international travel
According to a study carried out by Despegar, the leading online travel company in Latin America, Mexicans will be the first travelers in Latin America to make the first post-covid-19 trip abroad, with September and December being the period they are considering for do it.
Likewise, the study indicates that Brazilians will be the next LATAM travelers to reactivate trips to international destinations (between October and November); while, Argentines, Chileans and Colombians will do so until next year (1st semester of 2021).
“The main reasons that Latin American travelers have to resume their trips abroad are mainly related to visiting relatives, work and studies,” said Ezequiel Rubin, Country Manager of Despegar in Mexico.
Regarding the destinations they will visit, Mexicans and Colombians will choose the United States, while Argentines and Brazilians will choose Europe and Chileans will choose Central America and the Caribbean.
With regard to accommodation, Argentines, Brazilians and Chileans will seek to stay in a hotel that has the corresponding health protocols, while Mexicans and Colombians will choose to stay at the home of a family member or friend.
