Dominican Republic nominated best MICE destination in the Caribbean at the World MICE Awards
The Dominican Republic appears as a nominated destination in the second edition of the Annual World MICE Awards, whose ceremony is scheduled to be held on November 1, 2021 in Dubai, United Arab Emirates.
Rina van Staden, Director of the World MICE Awards, says: “I am delighted to reveal the nominations for this year’s World MICE Awards 2021. We have been overwhelmed by the exceptional quality of the participants, which is an encouraging indicator that the MICE industry is recovering strongly from the challenges of the past year. We are excited about the opening of the voting on June 9 ”.
The annual World MICE Awards program aims to foster growth, innovations and best practices on a global scale. World MICE Awards is the sister event to the World Travel Awards, currently celebrating its 28th anniversary.
In this second edition, the Dominican Republic repeats as one of the countries nominated for the best MICE destination in the Caribbean region, along with the Cayman Islands, Anguilla, Jamaica and the Bahamas, which were also nominated in the 2020 edition.
While in the Caribbean nation there are six hotels nominated in these awards in the category Dominican Republic’s Best MICE Hotel 202. These are: Barceló Bávaro Palace, Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Punta Cana, Meliá Punta Cana Beach Resort in the beach area, As for urban hotels, there are Crowne Plaza Santo Domingo, JW Marriott Hotel Santo Domingo and Renaissance Santo Domingo Jaragua Hotel & Casino. In this category, Casa de Campo Resorts & Villas was the winner in 2020.
The specialized companies nominated in the Dominican Republic’s Best MICE Organizer 2021 category are: Crowd Meeting, (winner in 2020), Di Fiore Eventos, Didea Events and Entertainment and ECT Events and Meeting
For this year there is a new category for local hotels, it is Best Incentive Hotel 2021 and for this occasion the following establishments are nominated: Casa de Campo Resorts & Villas; Paradisus Palma Real Golf & Spa Resort; Sanctuary Cap Cana & Inclusive Adult Resort and The Westin Punta Cana Resort & Club
