Dominican Republic promotes direct flight Charlotte – Samaná
The New York and Orlando Tourism Promotion Offices, in coordination with the Samaná Tourism Cluster, continue to promote the new direct American Airlines service that will begin on June 5
This route will operate on an Embraer team with a capacity of 76 seats, with two weekly frequencies on Wednesdays and Saturdays.
Fernando Abreu, director of the New York OPT, highlighted the importance of this flight since it represents the opening of the American market to Samaná because it will be the only flight from the United States to this destination, in addition to serving as a connecting flight from other cities in the Northeast, Midwest and Southwest of the USA.
[Raquel Reyes, director of the Orlando, FL OPT] For her part, Raquel Reyes, director of the Orlando, FL OPT. made a general presentation of the destination, highlighting the new entry and exit requirements to the Country (E-Ticket), protocols implemented by the Dominican Government in reference to Covid-19 and emphasized the tools available for Travel Agents such as the Center of Traveler Information and Expert Certification in the Dominican Republic.
Javier Lara, vice president of the Samaná Tourism Cluster, projected a striking presentation of Samaná showing the rich diversity of options it offers; emphasizing that it is the ideal destination for lovers of nature, adventure and well-being.
Rebeca Ovalle, representative of American Airlines, thanked the efforts of the OPT who have supported her by promoting this route, which generates a very positive expectation of other possible services that in the short term may be being confirmed by this airline.
This information was offered through a webinar, which featured, with an outstanding participation of Travel Agents who showed their enthusiasm and are eager to offer Samaná as the ideal option for their clients’ vacations, regarding the arrival of summer.
