Dominican Republic promotes its offer of business and nature tourism
The Office of Tourism Promotion of the Dominican Republic has two outstanding trade fair events this week: from November 19 to 21 it will be present at the IBTM World, an international reference event for the tourism of incentive meetings and exhibitions (MICE), held in Barcelona; and from November 21 to 24 will attend the International Indoor Tourism Fair (INTUR), whose 23rd edition will take place in Valladolid.
The Dominican Republic attends the IBTM World and INTUR intending to position itself in two outstanding tourist segments within its international promotion strategy: business tourism, congresses, and incentives, with its specialized offer for event organizers, and tourism interior, with its proposal of nature and cultural tourism.
Once again, the Caribbean destination is faithful to the grand event with the tourism of meetings and events, which will gather in the Gran Vía de Fira complex in Barcelona to more than 2,800 exhibitors from this industry. The Dominican Republic is among the more than 150 countries participating in this professional event.
Its presence in the IBTM World exhibits a stand of more than 110 square meters. It highlights various products for event organizers: hotels with facilities for significant events, places with local charm – including boutique hotels and unique spaces like Altos de Chavón. It features a life-size replica of a Mediterranean village – and modern congress centers.
Among the novelties that the destination presents in this edition of the IBTM World highlights the inauguration of the Homewood Suites by Hilton in Santo Domingo and the new rooms for events and conferences of the Hard Rock Hotel Santo Domingo.
During the three days of the fair, the Dominican Republic stand will host presentations of its offer and host work meetings. With its colorful and cheerful design, the presence in the IBTM World will also promote the purely holiday facet of the destination, offering the visiting public samples of its folklore and gastronomy.
Nature, gastronomy, and culture in INTUR
The Dominican Republic will also participate in INTUR; the contest is the most important of those held in Spain specialized in inland tourism.
Nature, gastronomy, and culture are its three fundamental pillars, which is why it brings together a good number of destinations interested in promoting their attractions in these three segments and related activities, ranging from adventure tourism to rural tourism.
Around 300 national and international exhibitors take part in this edition, open to both tourism professionals and the general public.
For the Dominican Republic, this event organized by Feria de Valladolid is also an opportunity to reach the local market of Castilla y León with direct action. Its stand, themed with the main tourist attractions of the destination, will attract the attention of the more than 40,000 visitors INTUR expects to receive between Thursday and Sunday.
