Dominican Republic wins back German tourists: 90% would repeat their visit to the country

In a survey conducted among 11,000 Germans who visited the Dominican Republic, 90% of them said they would return to the Caribbean destination by plane.

“That means we need more planes from Germany, more flights and more seats, because the ones we have are not enough,” said Technical Vice Minister of Tourism Jaqueline Mora in a presentation at the last ITB Berlin 2023.

She indicated that 49% of those surveyed would recommend the destination to other German residents, according to the study. And most interesting: On a scale of 1 to 5, satisfaction is 4.2 (excellent).

Mora explained that visitor satisfaction is measured, taking into account the whole chain that involves tourism, from the conversations with the staff that attends the tourist, to the treatment of the travel agent, the food, the punctuality of the cab driver or bus company that transported an excursion, the care of the hotel, the cleanliness of the pool and a whole range of points that everyone who is in a foreign country usually sees.
