World Environment Day, organized by the United Nations Environment Program (UNEP), has been celebrated on June 5 every year since 1973. It serves as a significant global platform for raising environmental consciousness and is embraced by millions of individuals worldwide.

This year’s World Environment Day holds special significance as it marks the 50th anniversary of the global event, initially established by the United Nations General Assembly in 1972.

The United Nations has announced that the Ivory Coast is the sponsor for this year’s commemoration, highlighting the country’s commitment to environmental preservation and sustainable practices.
