Frontier Gets Approval for New Dominican Republic Route
Ultra-low-cost carrier Frontier Airlines has received approval to launch a new flight between Philadelphia and Santo Domingo in the Dominican Republic.
The carrier has received Dominican government approval for the route, officials confirmed this week.
Frontier is planning to start the Philadelphia-Santo Domingo route this December; the company will be operating flights on an Airbus A320 Neo aircraft with capacity for 186 seats.
Frontier has been rapidly adding new flights to the Caribbean since the onset of the pandemic, with a particularly large concentration in the Dominican Republic.
That includes increased flights to both Punta Cana and, increasingly Santo Domingo, a destination that has been seeing strong growth in the last few years.
